I had never done any martial arts before I joined Krav Maga Boston, and when selecting a system to learn I was looking for one that will efficiently teach me to defend myself and my loved ones from realistic threats that I am likely to encounter in an everyday setting. While skills taught in most other systems are best used in a controlled environment (such as specially equipped gyms or sports competitions), the techniques that define Krav Maga are custom-tailored to the scenarios that can and do occur in real life. Being a novice in martial arts, I was impressed by how quickly I gained basic self defense skills after I started my studies. Krav Maga techniques build on our instinctive defenses and it seems to be one of the most efficient systems available in terms of making tangible progress in return to a relatively small investment of time.
